20-year-old dies after motorcycle hits trailer in Loay
A 20-year-old man died after his motorcycle hit the back of a trailer truck carrying cement along a national road in the town of Loay at dawn on Tuesday.
The death, identified as Johnny Lord Budiongan, a resident of Loay, died instantly, Corporal Felix Cajaro of Loay Police Station said.
According to Cajaro, Budiongan was following the truck and was about to pass the vehicle when the collision occurred.
“Gasunod ni sila padung sa Lila, kini si Budiongan padung mo exceeds pero dihay kahinagbo therefore bale ni balik siya sa iyang lane samtang kusong iyang dagan mao mi sango siya sa likod sa prime mover,” Cajaro said.
Budiongan hit the iron fender of the truck, knocking him off his motorcycle and sustaining head injuries.
âNilagpot ni siya, nakabutang diri sa blotter na kusog iyang speed,â Cajaro said.
Cajaro added that Budiongan had a helmet with him but was not wearing the headgear during the incident based on witness statements.
Meanwhile, 41-year-old Marlon Tardeo, who was driving the truck, has been released from custody.
Budiongan’s family had no intention of filing a complaint since he was responsible for the collision. (A. Doydora)
